Don Ross

 

has been a performer, composer, recording artist and music educator since the late 1980s. He has released 20 solo and collaborative CDs of original music, scored films, television and radio ads, live theatre productions, radio dramas and television series. Originally from Montréal, he lived for many years in the Toronto area and now resides in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, on Canada's East Coast. Known primarily as a guitarist, Don also sings in baritone range, and plays a multitude of musical instruments, including bass, keyboards, slide guitar, electric guitar and percussion. He engineers his own recordings at his digital studio and works regularly with virtual instrument sound libraries and collaborates regularly with other performers and composers. He is the 2021 recipient of the Walter Carsen Prize for Excellence in the Performing Arts, administered by the Canada Council for the Arts.
